This March the historic halls of the Mitukoshi Theater will be home to a very different kind of music than you might expect, a symphony of video game music focusing on critically acclaimed role-playing game Persona 5. The concert conducted by Kenichi Shimura and featuring performances by soprano Tomoko Komiya and vocalist Lyn, amongst other special guests, seeks to place the cultural contribution Japanese video game culture has made to the arts in a fitting context. After all, 
ukiyo-e and kabuki may be enshrined as traditional arts now, but it is worth remembering that in the heart of Edo Japan they were the popular culture of their own era, with a woodblock print selling for roughly the price of a manga today.
Taking to the main stage on the 20th, the concert is joined by exclusive souvenirs for all those lucky enough to be able to attend. Outside this exclusive event, the Hajimarino Café on the seventh floor of the Main Building will have a Persona-themednu as well as limited edition items produced specifically for the event. These include Morgana illustrated in front of Nihombashi Mitsukoshi's own iconic glass ceiling on some items, as well as rendered in real robot form in collaboration with Ai Robot Kibiro©, and as other characters from the game on a range of items sure to delight fans.
